Introduction
I put this
site up as a resource for beginners. While building guitar amps is a rewarding
hobby, it is often daunting. Getting the first amp built and working correctly
can be quite a challenge, especially for someone with no background in
building electronics. The hardest part of getting into amp building is
building the first amp. It takes a combination of having all the necessary
tools and all of the required parts. Nothing is as frustrating as trying
to build an amp without the right tools, or to be missing a necessary
part to finish up the amp.
I would like
to thank Edward T. Dell, Jr., Editor and Publisher of AudioXpress
Magazine, who has kindly granted me permission to use both the "Remaking
of a Champ" and "A
Western/Russian Tube Chart" originally printed in Glass
Audio Magazine. Audio Xpress is a fine publication and although it
deals mainly with hifi circuits, it is a tremendous resource; I would
encourage anyone interested to subscribe.
